Statement of Intent

Moving to Utah trying to work my way through paying for school allowed me to begin work in construction- specifically concrete. Looking at how others felt after a long day, and after having a sore back from a day full of working- I promised myself to try and make work an easier and more enjoyable experience for all blue collar workers in any way that I can. That is why I created the concrete tool and work pant, to try and make the workplace a better place. On the other side- my brother experienced moderate hypothermia by falling into the Kenai River in Alaska. Because he had to try to run upstream to grab a net and a fish bonker, he fell into the river. Seeing this- I realized that there is something I could design to help make someone’s life easier. This is the common trend of why I want to create. Knowing that I can do something to help make someone’s life easier- that is why I create. That is why I want to be a designer, to make experiences for others more enjoyable and memorable.
